Southworth Library sold its rare Lincoln Papers to fund an addition to the existing building. The addition was designed to blend with the historic nature of the building through the stone work yet stand alone as a new piece of architecture. The site work included relocating the main entry of the building to the new addition. Stone walls that reflect the architecture mark the entry. An accessible entry was added from a new parking area at the rear of the site. An arrangement of granite stones form an outdoor reading room for children’s programs, located in a secluded corner of the property.
