Located on ten acres on the coast in Brunswick, Maine, this former farmstead boasted apple trees, a wildflower meadow and a mature oak tree beautifully sited and visible from the house. Originally from Oregon, the owners designed the house with the architect to reflect a contemporary northwest sensibility. Active and outdoorsy, they wanted a space to accommodate play for their young children as well as hanging out and relaxing.
Our job was to create patio spaces that bridge the house to existing views. The resulting design incorporates a mixed palette of materials with a minimal design that calls attention to the surrounding landscape.
